The Bharatiya Janata Party will move a Telangana bill in the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
With Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari giving permission to discuss the Bill, BJP member Prakash Javedkar will introduce it.
The Rajya Sabha is likely to discuss the Telangana private bill for 2 hours on Friday afternoon, at 2pm.
Meanwhile, former TRS MP Vinod Kumar held discussions with the Nationalist Congress Party, the Communist Party of India, the Janata Dal (United) and the Bahujan Samaj Party, seeking their support for the Bill.
The TRS is also consulting all national-level leaders who are in favour of smaller states.
Some ministers from the Telangana region are heading to New Delhi to mount pressure on the High Command to take an early decision on the Telangana issue.
The ministers reportedly want the High Command to take the decision before the Parliament's winter session is done with.
The introduction of a Telangana private bill in Rajya Sabha might trigger the Congress' spelling out of its stand on the statehood issue. (INN)
