The much awaited intermediate spot valuation began in the state today.
The valuation of a total of 55 lakh answer-sheets belonging to 9.5 lakh students will be taken up by 15,000 teachers.
The authorities of the Board of Intermediate Education have increased the total number of valuation centres from the usual 12 to 33, keeping in view the threat of the novel coronavirus.
Boarding, lodging and transportation arrangements have also been for the teachers.
The teachers are also being helped with precautions to prevent contracting the coronavirus. They have been given three masks, personal sanitizers and police passes to carry out their duties.
Authorities are also taking up sanitisation and fogging operations at all the centres till the completion of the valuation.
The valuation of the intermediate second year answer sheets will be taken up first, and then the valuation of the intermediate first year answer sheets.
The results of the board exams are expected to be announced in the second week of June.
