Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Friday demanded that the Telangana government immediately announce its industrial policy.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Ponnala claimed that the industries of Telangana State had suffered losses to the tune of Rs 11,000 crores in the recent past due to lack of clarity on the government's policy.
He alleged that several industries were shifting their base to Andhra Pradesh.
He said that while the TRS government should be getting new industries to the State, even the existing were leaving Telangana due to lack of facilities and support from the government.
Therefore, Ponnala demanded that the government come out with its new industrial policy - both to prevent the existing industries from leaving the State, and to attract fresh investments.
Ponnala also announced that the TPCC would start a website to promote its vision of "Bangaru Telangana", by seeking opinions from intellectuals, experts and the general public.
He also expressed condolences over the deaths in GAIL pipeline blast mishap. (INN)
