The Telangana High Court today instructed the state government to increase testing for Covid-19.

The Telangana High Court today instructed the state government to increase testing for Covid-19.

Hearing a petition, the court said that the government should conduct at least one lakh RTPCR tests every day.

The court instructed the officials of the health department to submit the details of the tests conducted daily, recoveries, steps taken to check the virus spread, the facilities to handle the spread, and other related data.

The High Court also instructed the health officials to implement Covid protocols of wearing masks, sanitizing hands and maintaining social distance.

The Attorney General informed that court that the cabinet meeting to be held on Monday would take a decision on stricter measures to check the virus' spread.

The court then adjourned the case to January 25, according to reports.

The court's remarks came at a time when the Covid-19 cases are increasing in the state and across the country.
