Etala Slams Low Covid Testing Allegations

Health Minister Etala Rajender called that a totally wrong and a deliberate disinformation campaign by the opposition parties.
Hyderabad | 24th June 2020
Health Minister Etala Rajender today said that the government was determined to provide the best treatment for Covid patients free of cost.

Talking to press persons after visiting the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Gachibowli, he accused some political parties of making false comments that a low number of Covid-19 tests were being conducted in the state.

He called that totally wrong and a deliberate disinformation campaign by the opposition parties.

"The state government will continue to conduct a large number of tests for the coronavirus even after the promised 50,000 are over. People can avail themselves of these services in the government hospitals including Gandhi Hospital and King Koti Hospital," he said.

Rajender however appealed to the people in general and the rich in particular not to go in for testing without any symptoms.

Speaking about the TIMS, Rajender said that the institute had been developed with modern facilities and would be opened soon.

"We have incorporated better facilities than in corporate hospitals in TIMS. It has 1,000 beds with oxygen supply and 50 ventilators, and a canteen for the health staff," he said.
