Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today announced that four new government schemes would be implemented in the State soon, starting with implementation in one village in each mandal as a pilot initiative: Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa (financial assistance to landless agricultural families and farmers in the State), ration cards and Indiramma Indlu.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Secretariat, he said that the process of identifying beneficiaries would be conducted meticulously, and would continue until March considering the high volume of applications.
He said that gram sabhas had been organized to select eligible beneficiaries transparently.
He also said that Rythu Bharosa would provide financial assistance for every acre of cultivable land, while Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa would benefit individuals who had participated in the National Employment Guarantee Scheme for a minimum of 20 days.
Also present at the press conference, minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the four schemes would be officially launched in a designated village between 1 pm and 2:30 pm after the Republic Day celebrations which were set to conclude by 11:30 am.
He also reassured the public that the distribution of ration cards remained an ongoing process and that all eligible individuals would receive them in due course.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who was also at the press conference, said that despite the State's financial constraints, the government was determined to fulfill its commitments. The organization of gram sabhas and the proactive solicitation of public applications reflected the Congress administration's commitment to transparency, he claimed.
He alleged that certain political parties were however attempting to tarnish the government's reputation by disrupting the gram sabha meetings, and urged the citizens to ignore such tactics and trust the administration's efforts to deliver on its promises.
