Telangana Health Minister Etala Rajender today said that the state government would offer compensation to the farmers for the crop and property losses that they may have suffered due to the heavy rains in the districts.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was monitoring the situation and had pressed in officials to assess the crop losses in the state, and would soon announce compensation for the crop losses, Rajender said after visiting the areas inundated by heavy rains in the Karimnagar district.
"There are heavy crop losses, and the officials of the agriculture, revenue and irrigation departments are to submit a report on the losses. The government will offer all possible help, and the people should not worry. The farmers and people who have suffered losses of crops and properties will get suitable help. There is no need to panic," the minister said.
Rajender also instructed the relevant officials to evacuate the people caught in waters in low-lying and submerged areas.
