BJP State president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar today alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was conspiring to ban the Bajrang Dal in Telangana.
Speaking at the OBC Sammelan held in Nagole, he said that KCR was competing with his political rival the Congress on the issue.
The Bajrang Dal is a right wing Hindu organization, and a constituent of the Sangh Parivar. It has a reputation in some quarters for being abrasive and aggressive. The Congress had in the Karnataka election campaign proposed to ban it in the State if it (the Congress) came to power, and had to quickly backtrack after the BJP pounced on it as an anti-Hindu step.
Also speaking about BC issues and concerns, Sanjay said that the sammelan was not against anyone, and that it was against the policies of KCR and the Congress.
He alleged that the CM had insulted BC leaders like Prof Jayashankar, Konda Lakshman Bapuji and Guda Anjana, who had taught him Telangana lessons.
He also asked the CM why he was not implementing a BC Bandhu scheme even after making a promise to that effect, and said that the BJP would hold a BC Sankharavam in the State capital demanding that the State government implement the scheme.
He also alleged that the CM had prevented the Modi government from implementing 10% reservation for the upper caste poor in the State for two years.
He said that the Centre had made enormous strides towards empowering and enriching the BCs, and that the Mudra scheme provided loans and employment to the BCs.
