Rs 40 Lakhs Ex-Gratia For Slain Constable
Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy announced Rs 40 lakhs for the family of constable Nagaraj killed in an encounter with militants in Nalgonda.
Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 40 lakhs to the family of constable Nagaraj who was killed in an encounter with two militants in the Nalgonda district on Saturday.
Speaking to media persons after visiting Kamineni Hospital at L B Nagar, where the policemen who were injured in the shoot-out were admitted, the Home Minister said that besides the payment of the ex-gratia, a job would also be given to one member of the constable's family.
He also announced all possible assistance to the inspectors and sub-inspectors who were injured in the encounters.
He praised the police personnel for the bravery displayed by them in fighting with the assailants.
However, the Home Minister claimed that the assailants Aslam Ayub and Zakeer were members of an inter-state gang of thieves, and were not related to any terrorist organisation. (INN)
