Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today slammed the BJP leaders in the state for alleging that the
TRS had colluded with the MIM just to
clinch the seats of the GHMC Mayor and Deputy Mayor in yesterday's elections for the same.
Addressing a press conference at the Telangana Bhavan, the minister hit out at the BJP leaders for their "baseless comments" against the TRS and their "communal" ways.
The Minister alleged that the parties of the Opposition were targeting Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for political mileage and cheap publicity, and rubbished any claims about a secret alliance between the MIM and the ruling party.
However, he added that the MIM was not an "untouchable" party that needed to be ostracised, and asked, "Is the MIM an untouchable party that must be kept away from? Even if it does extend its support to the TRS, what is so wrong with that?"
"While the MIM and the TRS are not foes, there does not exist a nexus between the two parties either. Contrary to what the BJP would like for the press and the people of the state to believe, we have not indulged in any collusion with the MIM. What is truly upsetting is the fact that the saffron party, instead of appreciating the fact that two women have just been appointed to the posts of GHMC Mayor and Deputy Mayor, has only been targeting our party for no concrete reason. We did, after all, clinch both the posts with a general majority yesterday. Nobody should be making any claims regarding any malpractice or collusion," Yadav said.
He also cautioned the BJP against making anymore "baseless allegations" against the TRS and the CM, and alleged that it was the BJP and not the TRS that had "unethically colluded" with various parties to gain power across the nation.
The minister's comments follow those of state BJP head Bandi Sanjay Kumar and party MLA from Goshamahal T Raja Singh, who had both alleged that the TRS and the MIM had
colluded with each other to ensure the victory of the TRS' candidates in yesterday's elections.
