Congress president Sonia Gandhi said that the decision to form a separate state of Telangana by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh is final, and that it will not be reconsidered.
Sonia Gandhi reiterated her stand while interacting with a delegation of Kurnool leaders led by Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy, in Delhi, on Tuesday.
The Kurnool leaders reportedly gave here three options - maintain status quo of a united Andhra Pradesh, trifurcate AP to form a Rayalaseema state in addition to Telangana, or form a Rayala-Telangana with Hyderabad as a Union Territory.
However, Sonia Gandhi is said to have not reacted to any of the demand, and instead said that they should make a representation to a high-powered committee led by A K Antony.
Sonia also assured the ministers that the Centre would redress all the problems and issues of the people of Seemandhra before dividing the state. (INN)
