Stating that the success of the
Martyrs Meet at Karimnagar on Saturday was a pointer that the Telangana dream is possible through the Congress party, senior leader G Venkatswamy said that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao was not capable of achieving separate statehoood.
Talking to media persons, Venkatswamy also sought to assuage the fears of Seemandhra leaders over the bifurcation of the state, by saying that there was no need to worry over the interests of the people from the 2 regions.
Rao asked the Seemandhra leaders not to believe the statements of Telangana leaders on controversial statehood issue. In the event of division of state, Seemandhra interests and sentiments would be protected at any cost, he pointed out.
Venkatswamy stated that in the recently conducted by-elections of Telangana region, the people had not cast their votes for TRS but for those who submitted their resignations on Telangana issue.
