On the orders of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Telangana DGP Jitender got into alert mode today.
Upon receiving information that there were more than 200 Pakistanis staying in Hyderabad, a high alert was declared.
According to the police officials, there are 208 Pakistanis in Hyderabad, and the DGP said that surveillance had been put on them. All Pakistanis in the State were ordered to leave India immediately, and were told that their visas would be cancelled after the 27th (medical visa holders have until the 29th).
They were also warned that if they continued to stay in Telangana illegally, they would be taken out of the city forcibly, besides legal action being initiated against them.
Earlier, the Centre had ordered Pakistanis to leave the country within 48 hours.
The Attari-Wagah border will be open till the 30th of this month for the passage of the Pakistanis.
