High-Level SIT For Maddur, Woman IAS Officer Cases

The Telangana government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe two cases - one registered in Maddur village of Narayanpet district and another at the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS).
DGP Shivadhar Reddy issued orders forming an eight-member SIT under the leadership of Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar.
In one of the cases, a person identified as Kava Venkatesh allegedly created obscene images of the Chief Minister and shared them in a WhatsApp group. Based on a complaint filed by Congress leader Gulla Narasimha, a case was registered on January 11.
Another case has been registered at the CCS concerning the recent circulation of content that allegedly denigrates a woman IAS officer. Acting on a complaint from the IAS Officers' Association, cases were filed against two Telugu news channels and seven YouTube channels under Sections 75, 78, 79, 351(1) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The SIT will investigate all matters related to these two cases.
The SIT members include North Range Joint Commissioner of Police Shwetha, Chevella Deputy Commissioner of Police Yogesh Gautam, Hyderabad Administration DCP Venkata Lakshmi, Cyber Crime DCP Aravinda Babu, Vigilance Additional SP Pratap Kumar, CCS ACP Guru Raghavendra, Cyber Cell Inspector Shankar Reddy and Cyber Cell Sub-Inspector Harish.
