Deputy Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly T Padma Rao Goud today offered financial assistance to several economically disadvantaged persons under the CMRF scheme.
At his Sithaphalmandi camp office in Secunderabad, Goud, a former minister, distributed cheques totalling Rs 50 lakh to 72 persons in need.
Speaking after the program, he stated that he was happy to be able to offer financial assistance to the needy and poor.
"Under the CMRF, we offer help to the economically disadvantaged people of our state. It has become extremely important to do so especially in the current situation. Apart from extending monetary aid, I will also ensure that all Covid-19 patients in my segment get the support they require," the leader said.
"The hospitals in our state have all the facilities needed to treat the deadly disease. We have adequate stocks of injections, beds, and medical oxygen. Since treatment has become costly in corporate and private hospitals, our government will give free services to Covid-19 patients at government hospitals. The KCR government is committed to offering free vaccines to the people of the state as well, and has allotted Rs 2,500 crore for this," the Deputy Speaker added.
He also urged those seeking help to contact his office by calling 040-27504448.
Meanwhile, in another step towards streamlining the Covid-19 prevention drive in the state, the government today appointed senior IAS officer K S Jawahar Reddy, who has been working as the TTD EO so far, to the post of chairman of the state's Covid-19 Command and Control Centre. In its orders, the government said that the Additional EO of the TTD Dharma Reddy would discharge the day-to-day duties of the EO till a fresh appointment was made.
