Union Law Minister Sadananda Gowda today opined that the Telangana MPs' demand for the division of the common High Court for AP and Telangana was genuine.
Participating in the NALSAR Law University convocation on Sunday, Gowda said that the Telangana MPs had justifiedly raised the demand for the creation of a separate High Court for Telangana in Parliament.
He said that he would not comment on the division issue as it was sub-judice, and that the Centre would consider the request in case the common High Court Chief Justice sent a resolution to the Centre.
Gowda urged the young talent from NALSAR to take up litigation and not confine themselves to just practicing in corporate offices, and urged the students to be well-versed with domestic as well as international law.
He also advised them to transform themselves into ethical professionals and work towards speedy resolution of disputes.
