The Telangana Assembly's Business Advisory Committee (BAC), chaired by Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, today decided to conduct the Budget session for the coming fiscal year, 2021-22, over 10 days. The fiscal deliberations will continue till March 26.
As per the BAC's plan, in tomorrow' session, the Assembly will condole any recent deaths of its members and former legislators, including Nagarjuna Sagar MLA
Nomula Narasimhaiah and former legislators
Gunda Mallesh, N Narasimha Reddy,
Kamatam Ram Reddy and K Madhusudhan Rao. On March 17, thanks will be offered to the Governor for her speech.
Finance Minister T Harish Rao will unveil the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 to the Assembly, on the following day, March 18, at 11:30 am. Health Minister Etala Rajender will do so in the Legislative Council. If he is unable to do so, Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy will make the presentation in his stead. After the budget presentation, however, the Assembly take a one-day break, and will meet on March 20 to begin the discussions on the budget. Since March 21 is a Sunday, the remaining discussions will be resumed on March 22. The appropriation bill will then be passed on March 26.
Apart from drawing up the schedule for the Budget session, Pocharam Reddy discussed various other matters pertaining to the upcoming fiscal deliberations at the BAC meeting, which was attended by government officials including Assembly Affairs Minister V Prashanth Reddy, Finance Minister T Harish Rao, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy, BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar, SC Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar, chief whip D Vinay Bhaskar, whip G Sunitha, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MIM leader Pasha Qadri, and Assembly Secretary V Narasimha Charyulu.
