Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy alleged that the debts of the State and the assets of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's family members were both increasing due to the TRS government's policies.
Reddy lambasted the Chief Minister saying that while the debts taken in the last 60 years by the State government were Rs 60,000 crores, KCR borrowed Rs 1.20 lakh crores just during his two-and-a-half-year rule.
Reddy alleged that the State government had created corporations specially to borrow.
He alleged that the State government had introduced Rs. 3.50 lakh-crore budgets in the last three years, and spent a total of Rs. 4.70 lakh crores, but had not yet provided the double bedroom houses to the poor, cleared the fees reimbursement arrears, waived off the farmers' loans in one go, or given three acres of land to dalits, all of which were its election promises.
Reddy asked KCR where he spent the huge amounts, and demanded that the CM release a white paper on the expenditure for the last three years.
It was not proper for the CM to inflict more debts on the people and the future generations by making huge borrowings for Mission Bhagiratha, he added.
He also claimed that while the debts of the State were increasing, the assets of KCR family were also increasing. Several Telangana protagonists were not given their due, but KCR's family had set up Telugu, Urdu and English newspapers and TV Channels, and had acquired hundreds of acres of farmlands, he alleged.
There was a need for KCR to how he acquired all these assets, he said.
He also alleged that KCR was trying to create differences between the castes to get votes in the coming elections.
He said that the next "Prajaporu" meeting would be held at Nirmal on February 20 similar to the successful meetings held at Kollapur and Gajwel.
