Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, along with DGP Mahender Reddy, today visited the city's historic Public Gardens, also known as Bagh-e-Aam, to inspect the arrangements being made for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in the city.
The CS instructed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the celebrations, but also told them to keep in mind the Covid-19 safety protocols while planning the event.
"Please ensure that the proper arrangements for security, traffic management and barricading are made for the event. Also ensure that all the necessary Covid-19 safety guidelines are being implemented as well," he said.
Other officials including Special Chief Secretary to Government (General Administration) Adhar Sinha, Principal Secretary (Transport, Roads and Buildings) Sunil Sharma, Principal Secretary (Health, Medical and Family Welfare) Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, and Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar also participated in the inspection.
Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Telangana government has taken many steps to contain the spread of the virus in the state, and has been especially strict in its implementation of social distancing norms. As part of these efforts, it even
postponed the city's famed Numaish exhibition recently.
