Council Election Results: TRS Wins Four, MIM One

As expected, all the four TRS candidates and the MIM nominee won the Telangana MLC elections held today.

The polling concluded at 4 pm, the counting of votes was taken up at 5 pm, and the results were announced shortly after that.

The four TRS candidates who won the election are:

Mahmood Ali (the Home Minister)
Satyawathi Rathore
Yegge Mallesham
S Subhash Reddy.

The MIM candidate who won is Mirza Riyaz ul Hasan Effendi.

It may be mentioned that the Congress, which had nominated Gudur Narayan Reddy, had boycotted the election due to the defections of its party members to the TRS - the Congress alleged that the TRS was subverting democracy through engineering defections.
