A police constable was attacked by four people at Sangareddy district's Patancheru area when he went to serve a notice to them in connection with a cheating case.
The police constable, Kanakaiah, is employed at the Bachupally police station.
According to the details revealed by the police, he had gone to Patancheru to serve a court notice to one Devilal following a complaint by a software engineer, Marurthi Prasad, a resident of Bachupally.
Prasad had alleged that he had built a house and handed over the contract for its interior design to the accused, Devilal, and had even given him an advance. However, following the payment, the 'interior designer' did not turn up for work and evaded Prasad on numerous occasions. Left with no option, he lodged a complaint against the accused.
After the police could not locate Devilal's home, Prasad stepped forward to help the police. He even accompanied Kanakaiah to the residence of the accused, located at the Novapan Chowrasta, to serve the court notice. When they reached, the accused, along with his friends, attacked Kanakaiah.
The constable escaped from the area and lodged a complaint with the Patancheru police who then promptly reached the spot and apprehended Devilal and his three aides. A video of the shocking incident is doing the rounds on social media.
