The Telangana Samara Deeksha organised by TJAC chairman Kodandaram, that started
yesterday amid much
chaos and controversy, will be coming to an end at 6pm today.
Meanwhile, the tone of the Deeksha has shifted from being a protest to that of a Telangana leaders' convention, owing to announcements made
yesterday by Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde that the contentious "Telangana decision" will not be made today.
With pro-Telangana leaders from TJAC, TRS, BJP, Congress, and several other parties attending the
deeksha, it has become a hotbed of political discussion on Telangana. Congress MPs and MLAs from "the region" are facing a lion's share of flak, with leaders from all other parties alleging that they are putting their "beloved posts" above the cause.
TRS president KCR has been very vocal about how Telangana Congress leaders are more interested in keeping their posts than in bearing down on the precariously positioned government by resigning from their posts.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Telangana Congress MPs will be meeting later today at the residence of Pedapalli MP G Vivek to discuss their future course of action. They say that they will be taking several "tough decisions".
