Telangana Congress MPs met on Sunday at the residence of Rajagopal Reddy to discuss the recent violence triggered by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's intent to conduct his Odarpu Yatra in the Telangana region. Except for Anjan Kumar Yadav, Suresh Sarkar and Jaipal Reddy, all the T Congress MPs were present at the meeting.
Sarve Satyanarana told the media that in the wake of a committee researching the Telangana issue, it was improper of Jagan to carry out a yatra that was blatantly intended to say that the people of Telangana had no real issues with statehood and that it was only a political matter. He alleged that Jagan was mobilizing goondas as well as money from external sources, for the tour.
The Congress leaders said that they doubted whether so many people indeed died of grief over YSR's death (Jagan's Odarpu tour is a "consolation tour" to console bereaved families of those who died of shock or committed suicide over the news of YSR's demise).
They said that Jagan does not heed the word of either the party high command or of Rosaiah, and demanded that his indiscipline be punished. They said they would report his actions to the Congress bosses in Delhi.
Sarve said that once things settle down, the Congress and its entire rank and file would undertake an "aatma viswaasa" yatra in the Telangana districts to reassure the people of the region.
