Expressing solidarity with the Telangana employees' general strike, Congress MLC Yadav Reddy on Wednesday thanked the Telangana employees for organising the agitation in "an exemplary manner".
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislative Party Office, he called upon the employees to continue to mount pressure on the Centre to achieve statehood for the Telangana region. He warned Seemandhra leaders of serious consequences if they make provocative remarks against the Telangana agitation.
Yadav Reddy was confident that the Centre would take a favourable decision on the Telangana issue soon.
MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy said that vested interests were obstructing the formation of Telangana despite Congress leaders making "sincere efforts" to achieve statehood for the region.
He appealed to Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad to brief the High Command over the Telangana struggle and to complete the consultation process soon. (INN)
