Mohammad Ayazuddin, younger son of former cricketer and Congress MP Mohammad Azharuddin, on Friday succumbed to injuries that he suffered in a road accident on 11 September.
Ayaz, son of Azhar's former wife Naureen, was critically injured when the Suzuki GSX R1000 sports bike which he was riding skidded on Outer Ring Road near Narsingi. The pillion rider, Ayaz's cousin 16-year-old Ajmal-ul-Rahman was declared dead an hour after they were shifted to the Apollo Hospital. Ajmal was the son of Azhar's sister and grandson of former MP Khaleel-ur-Rahman. Ayaz was a promising cricketer and has played in the under 13, under 15 and under 19.
Ayaz suffered multiple injuries to his chest and kidney. Doctors at the Apollo Hospital have performed multiple surgeries on the boy. He was kept on ventilator and his blood pressure was supported by medication. (INN)
