Congress Gave Birth To Mohammed Nayeemuddin: TRS

Lashing out at the Opposition in the Legislative Council on Friday, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy alleged that only the Congress gave birth to gangster Nayeemuddin and the TDP nurtured him.

During the Question Hour, responding to Congress members Mohammed Ali Shabbir and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, the Home Minister said that the Congress encouraged Nayeemuddin during its ten-year rule.

Interrupting the Home Minister's speech however, Congress MLC Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy recalled the statement made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that the State government would not leave any political leader involved with Nayeem; but at the end of the day, the government left out important politicians from the case.

While charging the State government with leaving a big leader and high police officials from the case, the Congress MLC questioned the TRS on the progress of the case in the last five months.

He also alleged that there no clarity was provided on finding AK-47s, Rs. 20,000 crores benami properties and Rs. 1,000 crores worth cash from Nayeem's residences.

Reddy reiterated the Congress' demand that the State government order a CBI probe into the case.
