Echoing a demand made by various other parties,
including the CPI, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today demanded that the Telangana government immediately start the recruitment process to fill the government job vacancies in the state.
Claiming that thousands of teaching posts in the government schools and higher education institutions had been lying vacant for quite some time, he accused the government of failing to provide quality subsidised education to the economically and socially disadvantaged students in the state.
"If so many government teaching posts are lying vacant, how are the public education institutions supposed to function properly? How are students excepted to learn without teachers? Students from poor homes are being forced to join private schools due to the TRS regime's negligent attitude towards public education institutions. This is shameful", he alleged.
"It is high time that the government recruit teachers to the many vacant teaching posts. It must also begin the recruitment process to fill the hundreds of other vacant government job posts," Vikramarka added.
Targeting Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he alleged that where the former could not tolerate the unemployment of his daughter K Kavitha even for some days, and had "rushed to make her an MLC", he (the CM) remained "unbothered" by the plight of the unemployed youth of the state.
"The unemployed youth in Telangana are deeply dissatisfied with the rule of the CM. Despite his many promises, he has been unable to provide employment to them, which has left them feeling dejected. He had even promised to fill up two lakh vacant posts before the last Assembly elections, but is yet to take any steps to keep his word. This has left the youth even angrier," the leader said.
"The CM should take immediate notice of the problem and work to remedy it. He should realise that pushing the youth to rebel against him will lead to an unpleasant confrontation that will affect not only the government but the law and order situation in the entire state," he added.
The CLP leader alleged that not only was the TRS government neglecting the state's education sector and the unemployed youth, it was also levelling false charges against the leaders of the Congress to silence them because they were questioning its "undemocratic and negligent" rule.
"The government has been negligent about bolstering the state's equation sector, and about filling the job vacancies. On top of that, it is also trying its hardest to silence those who question its apathetic and lax ways," he said.
Vikramarka condemned the "failure" of the government to rule the state in a democratic way, and to stand by its people.
The TRS government has been facing endless backlash for the delay in the filling of the government job vacancies in the state even though it had recently announced that it would begin the process of
filling 50,000 vacancies soon. Just a few days ago, the
CPI also lashed out at the government for its "failure" to recruit teachers to the many vacant teaching posts in the state's government colleges and universities.
