The stage is set for the Telangana Assembly elections which will be held across the State on November 30. Officials claim to have made all the necessary arrangements for the prestigious exercise.
In this context, Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj on Tuesday issued orders declaring a holiday for all government and private establishments, including IT companies, across the State on November 30.
The Chief Electoral Officer asked all private establishments and IT companies to give leave to their employees on the polling day without fail.
The CEO also warned that legal action would be initiated against the organisations that did not grant leave.
He said that during the last two elections (the 2018 Assembly and the 2019 Lok Sabha), the EC had received complaints that some organisations did not allow leave. Instructions had therefore been issued to the labour department to check whether all organisations had offered leave for this election.
Meanwhile, two days of holidays (November 29 and 30) have been declared for all educational institutions in Hyderabad district in view of the elections. Hyderabad Collector Anudeep issued an order on Tuesday to this effect.
