CS Reviews Status Of Medical Infrastructure
Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar today held a meeting to review the status of the medical infrastructure available at the state's hospitals.

As per the directions of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar today held a meeting at the BRKR Bhavan with the officials of the concerned departments to review the measures taken to strengthen medical infrastructure in the state in order to prepare for a possible third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the meeting, health officials briefed the CS about the steps they had taken in this regard.
A government release stated that matters pertaining to the installation of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation plants, the conversion of all the beds in the state's government hospitals into oxygen beds, the creation of additional storage capacity for liquid medical oxygen stocks, the procurement of paediatric oxygen supply and ICU beds, and the strengthening and upgrading of district hospitals, were discussed at today's meeting.
Apart from this, Kumar reportedly directed the officials concerned to expedite the filling of all existing vacancies at hospitals, and to procure adequate stocks of medicines, diagnostic and biomedical equipment, testing kits and other essentials.
He also enquired about the progress of the works of the seven new medical colleges which were recently sanctioned by the TRS government.
Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce, and IT) Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary (Health) Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi, Secretary (Disaster Management) Rahul Bojja, Special Secretary (Finance) Ronald Rose, Commissioner and Inspector General (Registration & Stamps) Sheshadri, Public Health Director G Srinivas Rao, Director (Medical Education) Ramesh Reddy, TSMIDC MD Chandra Shekar Reddy, TSIIC MD Narasimha Reddy, OSD To CM Gangadhar, and Engineer-in-Chief Ganpathi Reddy were among those officials who attended the meeting.
