BJP leader and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy today said that the Centre would complete the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination process by the end of December this year.
He made the statement while talking to the media after visiting Hyderabad's Gandhi Hospital where he interacted with Covid patients and enquired about the services being extended to them.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the Modi government was ready to fight against the pandemic, and that as part of this "fight", vaccination drives for the children of the nation would also be launched soon.
Talking about those persons who did not have Aadhar cards, he explained that they would be vaccinated after they provided their passports instead.
The leader then highlighted the steps being taken by the Centre to prepare for a possible third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, and stated that so far, 1,200 oxygen plants had been set up in India under the PM Cares and that six more plants would soon be set up under the same scheme.
In another part of the city, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar visited a vaccination centre at the old CIB quarters in Khairatabad to inspect the arrangements that had been made for the special "mop up vaccination drive" which was started just yesterday to immunise the residents of the GHMC and the Cantonment Board areas of the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar explained that the primary objective of this special mop up drive was to make Hyderabad a city with a 100% Covid vaccination rate. He also appealed to the people of Hyderabad to utilise this opportunity to get inoculated.
