Over 2 Lakh Drivers In GHMC Area To Be Vaccinated
CS Somesh Kumar today said that more than two lakh auto-rickshaw, cab, and taxi drivers in the GHMC area would be vaccinated over the next twenty days.

The Chief Secretary of Telangana, Somesh Kumar, today stated that more than two lakh auto-rickshaw, cab, taxi and maxi-cab drivers functioning within the limits of the GHMC area would be vaccinated across 10 centres over the next twenty days as part of the state's special vaccination drive for high-risk groups.
Kumar visited the immunisation centre set up at the Raj Bhavan High School, where the first dose of the vaccination is to be administered to the drivers. He said that the drive for the high exposure groups was being taken up as per the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
While at the centre, the CS also congratulated the state's transport department officials for making elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the vaccination program.
To receive the injections, officials have said that all the licensed drivers in the GHMC area will have to register themselves on the website of the transport department.
An official clarified, "After registering themselves, they will receive a message on the mobile number they provided. Only those drivers who receive the confirmation message will be allowed at the vaccination centres. The registration of the drivers on the Cowin portal will be done at the vaccination centre itself. However, no walk-ins will be entertained."
Special Chief Secretary (Transport, and Roads & Buildings) Sunil Sharma, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar, Hyderabad Collector Sweta Mohanty, Secretary (Health) Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi, and Transport Commissioner M R M Rao were among the other officials who were present during Kumar's inspection of the vaccination centre.
