Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today announced sops for the police Home Guards, increasing their daily allowance from Rs 921 to Rs 1,000 each, and weekly parade allowance from Rs 100 to Rs 200.
Addressing the Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu celebrations held in collaboration with the Home department at the HMDA grounds, the Chief Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh if any Home Guards died, whether the death was natural or by accident.
"The State government will always stand by the families of police officers and staff who die in the line of duty. It will extend all possible help," the CM said.
The Chief Minister said that the State government would take steps to provide these facilities from January 1, 2025.
"In addition to this, education will be provided with international standards for the children of police personnel including Home Guards. We have allocated 50 acres for a Young India Police School. Officers from Home Guards to the DGP, regardless of their rank, can get admission for their children there," he said.
