Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today ordered a probe into the incident of a farmer being taken from the Sangareddy jail to a hospital in handcuffs after complaining of chest pain.
The CM expressed anger over the incident, and said that there was no justification for handcuffing the farmer.
BRS working president K T Rama Rao condemned the handcuffing of the farmer, who had previously suffered a heart stroke, and called it a reflection of the brutal mentality of the Chief Minister.
The farmer, Hirya Nayak, was arrested last month for allegedly attacking officials during a public hearing on land acquisition for a pharma cluster in Lagacherla village, Vikarabad. The Vikarabad Collector was among those reportedly attacked. The police had arrested several villagers, including the farmer. BRS leader and former MLA Narender Reddy was also taken into custody for allegedly instigating the villagers.
