CEO Files Police Complaint Against Whatsapp Post
The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar filed a complaint with police that a "completely fake and defamatory post" against him was floating around in Whatsapp.
The State Chief Electoral Officer and Principal Secretary to the Government, Rajat Kumar, today filed a complaint with the Additional DCP, Cyber Crimes, that a "completely fake and defamatory post" against him was floating around in Whatsapp.
He said in the complaint that the message stated that the TRS had given him 15.25 acres as a gift for favouring them in the elections.
The CEO stated that he had purchased the agricultural land in Hemajipur village, Balanagar mandal, Mahabubnagar district, duly registering with the Sub-Registrar, during 2013-2014 from different agriculturists with the permission of the State government. He also enclosed copies of a government memo in this regard.
Pointing out that such "malicious posts" would hurt the institutional credibility of the office of the CEO, Kumar requested the police to book an FIR and ensure that the message was stopped from being forwarded forthwith, and make all efforts to trace the culprits involved and punish them under the provisions of the law.
