Cash, Liquor, Drugs Worth Rs 37.07 Crore Seized Since Election Announcement

The police have seized cash, liquor, ganja and precious metals worth about Rs 37.07 crore after the Model Code of Conduct came into effect in the State.

The police have seized cash, liquor, ganja and precious metals worth about Rs 37.07 crore after the Model Code of Conduct came into effect in the State for the Assembly elections.

According to officials, Rs 20,43,38,375 in cash and liquor worth Rs 86,92,533 were seized in the State. The police also seized drugs and narcotics worth Rs 89,02,825 and precious metals worth Rs 14.65 crore.

The police and other enforcement agencies began implementing the model code after the Election Commission of India announced the Assembly elections on October 9.
