Rs 101 Crore Seized In Telangana After Election Announcement
Cash, liquor, gold, drugs and other items worth Rs 101,18,17,299 have been seized in Telangana after the model code of conduct came into existence on October 9.

The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force on October 9 in Telangana with the announcement of the Assembly elections. Since then, the police have seized Rs 55,99,26,994 in cash; liquor worth Rs 2,60,57,004; 1,234 kg of ganja, three litres of weed oil and 0.13 kg of MDMA worth Rs 3,42,84,275; 72.06 kg of gold, 429.1 kg of silver and 42.25 carats of diamonds worth Rs 38,45,44,526; and other items intended to be distributed for free as inducements to vote, worth Rs 70,04,500.
The total worth of the seized items is Rs 101,18,17,299.
All this happened in just eight days so far, while during the Assembly elections of 2018 cash and other items worth about Rs 103 crore were seized during the total period in which the MCC was in place.
Meanwhile, 5,529 licensed arms have been deposited by their holders, and three unlicensed arms have been seized.
The police requested the members of all the political parties to adhere to the MCC for the smooth conduct of elections.
