The Telangana unit of the BJP today held a "Bhim Padayatra" from the Dr B R Ambedkar statue in Telangana Bhavan to Parliament House in Delhi.
Speaking to media persons later, state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that the entire Telangana society was ashamed of the comments of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao about the constitution of the country.
He said that it was further distressing that the ruling TRS leaders were supporting the comments of the CM despite the strong criticism from the opposition parties, and that that jus reflected the arrogance of the ruling party leaders.
Kumar asked the TRS leaders whether it was in the constitution to make KCR's daughter Kavitha an MLC after her defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
Without taking the name of Rajya Sabha MP Santosh Kumar, another relative of KCR, Kumar also asked the ruling party leaders if it was in the constitution to reward a leader who was meant to give medicines to the CM, with a Rajya Sabha MP post.
The BJP leader said that there was an urgent need to change the Chief Minister, and not the Indian constitution.
He also said that there was a dire need to end the "feudal" rule of KCR and usher in democratic rule in Telangana.
He said that the main objective of the BJP was to achieve a "TRS-mukt" Telangana, and that the party would continue its agitation on the controversial comments of KCR until he tendered his apologies.
