Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today slammed Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, alleging that the CM had held his Maha Dharna for the benefit of the millers of the state.
Speaking to media persons in the city, Sanjay also asked how there could be any link at all between the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to repeal the three controversial farm laws and the dharna held by the Chief Minister, asking the CM if he had held his dharna for the farmers of Telangana or Punjab.
He also asked the CM if the Centre had not announced that it would buy 40 lakh tonnes of paddy from the farmers of the state, and alleged that KCR was grossly misleading the farmers of the state.
Sanjay lamented that the farmers of the state were incurring losses due to the delay in the procurement of paddy from them, but that the CM was focusing primarily on deflecting the blame from himself.
He also alleged that the CM was not caring for the problems faced by the farmers due to the recent unseasonal rains, and that the continuing apathy of the CM for the state's farmers had resulted in the state securing the fourth position in the entire country in suicides by farmers, with 419 farmers dying in 2019 and 471 dying in 2020.
He demanded that the CM pay Rs 20 lakh as compensation to the kin of each farmer who had committed suicide.
He also alleged that the CM had organized the stone-pelting attacks on the BJP leaders and workers.
