The Telangana unit of the BJP today sought a CBI inquiry into the allotment of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) toll contract to IRB Infrastructure Developers.
Speaking to media persons, party MLA Raghunandan Rao said that the party had already lodged a complaint with the CBI in the issue.
He asked the BRS leaders who increased the project tender price from Rs 7,200 crore to Rs 7,380 crore, and asked why CM K Chandrashekar Rao and industries minister K T Rama Rao were silent on the issue.
He also alleged that the ruling party leaders were murdering all those who are speaking against IRB.
He demanded that the CM cancel the tender allotted to the company, which he claimed had a criminal history, and said that the BJP would approach the High Court of the State in the issue after the ongoing summer vacation.
Targeting rival parties who were asking why the BJP was not reacting on the issue, Rao said that his party had been raising the issue for several days, and added that they had no need to take moral lessons from their political opponents.
