The party said Tirupati Reddy, despite holding no official position, enjoyed privileges including a police convoy and schoolchildren performing parades.
Telangana BJP spokesperson N V Subhash today strongly criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for "failing to restrain" his brother Anumala Tirupati Reddy, who the former claimed was functioning as an extra-constitutional authority.
In a scathing statement, Subash said that Tirupati Reddy, despite holding no official position, enjoyed privileges that included a police convoy and schoolchildren performing parades in his honour.
He also accused the Vikarabad district Collector of acting as Tirupati Reddy's personal bodyguard.
"How can such blatant misuse of power go unchecked? Is this not reminiscent of the arrogance displayed by the KCR family, which ultimately faced the wrath of the people?" Subash asked, and demanded immediate action from the Chief Minister.
Subash likened the situation to the tenure of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh where he claimed the PM was subservient to Sonia Gandhi. "Manmohan Singh allowed Sonia Gandhi to function as a Super PM, and Revanth Reddy seems to be following that same Congress culture by letting his brother operate as a parallel Chief Minister without holding any constitutional authority," he alleged.
He warned that the people of Telangana were closely observing these developments. "If the Chief Minister fails to control his brother's overreach, he too will face the same fate as the KCR family," he said.
