Ministers from the Telangana region on Wednesday said that they will write a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi seeking her appointment to discuss the introduction of the Telangana bill in the Parliament.
This decision was taken at a meeting which was held at the chambers of Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy.
According to sources, the ministers will appeal to Gandhi to stand by the December 9th, 2009 statement made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Telangana.
The sources say that the ministers would meet Gandhi and ask her to speed up the process for the formation of a separate Telangana state.
The ministers also discussed the strategy on how to counter Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs in the Assembly, who have been successfully stalling proceedings demanding a resolution on the Telangana bill in the House.
Sources say that Government Chief Whip Mallu Vikramarka suggested the Telangana ministers would take the front rows of the Assembly to tackle the TRS MLAs effectively.
