Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K Tarakarama Rao on Thursday accused Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar of "setting a wrong precedent" by passing the resolution against State Reorganisation Bill.
Speaking to media persons at Assembly's media point, KTR said that the manner in which the Speaker took up the resolution, moved by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, seeking rejection of Telangana Bill is highly objectionable.
He said that the Speaker passed the resolution through a voice vote despite objections raised by the Telangana legislators.
However, he said that the resolution would have no impact on the process of Telangana formation.
KTR informed that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao would be visiting the national capital on Friday, and would meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and other members of the Group of Ministers to request them to expedite the process of Telangana formation.
He expressed confidence that the Bill would be passed in the next session of Parliament, beginning from February 5. (INN)
