The Telangana government will conduct a Special Legislative Assembly Session on August 30 at 11 am to pass the GST Bill which was recently approved in Rajya Sabha.
Telangana will become the eighth Indian state to pass the Bill.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today held a high-level meeting with Assembly Affairs Minister T Harish Rao and Legislature Secretary Raja Sadaram on conducting the session. He decided to invite Advocate General Venkatram Reddy, too, to the Assembly. The CM also asked Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary and Council Chairman Swamy Goud to take necessary measures for the smooth conduct of the session.
The special session will be conducted from five to seven working days so as to conjoin it with the Monsoon session and discuss other important issues.
The Assembly session will be conducted in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent request to the State governments to pass the Bill and support it at the national level.
