A Telangana Assembly session has been officially scheduled for February 7, in which the State government will seek approval for the caste census report.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has decided to convene the session to discuss and pass a resolution urging the Union government to increase reservations for the backward classes.
This move comes after the completion of a comprehensive caste census survey across the State.
Officials have finalized the report on the survey, which is set to be presented to a Cabinet sub-committee on February 2 for an initial review. Following this, the Cabinet will meet separately on February 5 to deliberate on the report and grant its approval.
Once endorsed by the Cabinet, the caste census report will be tabled in the Legislative Assembly on February 7 for discussion and formal approval.
The government aims to use this data to push for "enhanced social justice measures and equitable policy-making" in Telangana.
