Anti-Cheap Liquor Body To Launch Major Movement
The decision of providing liquor at Rs. 15 per bottle was nothing but playing games with the lives of poor people leading to under-development, the leaders feel.
Anti-Cheap Liquor Committee leaders have said that they would take up a major movement in case the Telangana government failed to withdraw the proposed new liquor policy.
Speaking to the media here on Friday, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said that the anti-cheap liquor committee would organize an all-party meeting at Kalinga Bhavan on August 22, in which leaders from all parties and various unions would participate.
He also called upon all sections of people who wanted to oppose the cheap liquor plan, to participate in big numbers.
He said that the people needed to wage war against the government till it withdrew its cheap liquor policy.
The decision of providing cheap liquor at Rs. 15 per bottle was nothing but playing games with the lives of poor people leading to under-development, the leaders feel. There would also be a chance of the crime rate increasing due to higher liquor consumption.
