Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that Telangana could resolve its agrarian crisis successfully with effective planning and implementation of various schemes.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the Swathanthra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu at HICC today, the Chief Minister said that no government since Independence could resolve the problems of the farmers in India, and that Telangana had finally shown a path, through its various measures including the Rythu Bandhu scheme, free power, irrigation and crop procurement.
The Chief Minister said that the Telangana model, achieving growth by sharing the fruits of progress equally with all the people, had become a compass for the country.
"Taking inspiration from the freedom struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi, I had led a movement for a separate State in a non-violent method and achieved Telangana. By now distributing the fruits of development equally among all the people, we are able to fulfill the aspirations of the movement," KCR said.
Earlier, cultural programs were organised in collaboration with the Sangeetha Nataka Academy, with a music concert by the Raghava Chary brothers enthralling the audience.
Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Vajrotsava Committee Chairman and MP K Keshava Rao, ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar and other elected representatives were present.
