Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu, who
toured the market yards in all the 10 Telangana districts to take stock of the situation of the hapless farmers who have been suffering for months due to the lack of takers for their paddy grains, was disturbed by Telangana activists on Wednesday.
Naidu was at a market yard in the Mahabubnagar district, surveying paddy stocks and communicating with the affected farmers, when a group of activists barged into the yard, raising the slogan of "Jai Telangana".
The Telangana agitators disrupted Naidu's activities, and refused to allow the TDP President to continue with his program. The police had to step in to control the irate group.
Telangana TDP Forum member Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who was also present alongside Naidu at the venue, condemned the unruly behaviour of the activist group. Naidu, too, was disconcerted by the incident.
Addressing the Telangana activists, Naidu asked them to refrain from disrupting programs that were being conducted for the upliftment of the ryots.
"The farmers are going through troubled times, and it is not right to cause them futher distress. Help them in any way you can, but do not cause them harm," Naidu is reported to have told the activists.
