The police on Tuesday arrested Telangana United Front president Vimalakka, in connection with Monday's
attacks on the office of Emaar Properties.
According to the police, besides Vimalakka, the police also arrested 33 people in connection with the ransacking of the Emaar office and attacks on its officials.
All of them were arrested early on Tuesday morning. They were later produced before a magistrate, who remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days. The police have also seized 13 vehicles in this connection.
Following the magistrate's directions, the police shifted Vimalakka and 2 other women to Chanchalguda Women's Jail, and the other 29 persons to Cherlapally Central Prison.
Meanwhile, Vimalakka staged a protest in the police station, in protest against the police taking photographs of the accused in the case for the purpose of identification. Vimalakka said that she would take the matter up with Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and would seek justice. (INN)
