Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu today inaugurated Techwave's Global Development Centre in Hyderabad.
Techwave, a leading global IT and engineering solutions firm, said that the centre would mark a significant milestone in Telangana's journey toward becoming a digitally empowered State.
The company already employs 2,400 associates in Hyderabad and 500 in Khammam district. The new state-of-the-art facility, spanning over 100,000 square feet in Tech Park, Financial District, Hyderabad, will increase the company's headcount by 1,200. The facility is reported to work on Techwave's digital transformation initiatives and global expansion strategies.
Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said that Telangana was home to over 220 Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and that the State was targeting growing this number to 400.
"The launch of Techwave's Global Development Centre highlights our commitment to shaping a digitally empowered future. Our skilled talent pool remains the cornerstone of this growth, attracting global enterprises and fostering innovation," he said.
"While Hyderabad continues to lead, our focus is on ensuring that all tier-2 and tier-3 cities in the State also benefit from the IT headwinds. By investing in innovation and skilling, we are building an inclusive, sustainable ecosystem for balanced growth. Techwave's new facility is a vital step in this journey, and will play a crucial role in driving Telangana's and India's leadership in the global digital economy," he said.
