Teacher Killed, Wife Injured In Karimnagar Accident
A government teacher was killed and his wife was seriously injured in an accident in Karimnagar town. A constable too died in a related incident after that.
In a tragic road accident that took place on Algunoor bridge of Karimnagar town on Sunday morning, a government teacher was killed and his wife was seriously injured.
The accident took place when the car in which the victims were traveling turned turtle on the bridge and fell off it and into the canal.
Locals extricated the victims from the car and rushed them to the district government hospital.
The man has been identified as Gandi Srinivas, working as a government teacher at Uppara Malyala.
The family was on its way to Komuravelli temple from Karimnagar for Mallanna darshan. The teacher was driving the car.
In a related incident, a police constable named Chandrashekar, who was deployed to regulate the traffic on the bridge after the accident, also lost his life after falling off the bridge by losing his balance.
The video of the constable falling off the bridge went viral.
The death was instant for Chandrashekar as he fell straight onto a rock and sustained serious head injuries.
He was working as a police constable at the One Town police station of Karimnagar.
The local MLA and state BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar reached the spot and inquired about the accident. He also expressed condolences to the family members of the victims.
